Our Sheltered Housing Schemes

Due to the remodelling of one of HCHA's largest properties for older people, all of our current older people's vacancies will be taken by tenants moving from there. We hope to re-open our waiting list at the end of 2008, so please bookmark this page and check back then.

Housing Young People

Young people become homeless for many reasons: some are pushed out of home by breakdowns in family relationships, sometimes they leave to escape abuse or poverty. Each year HCHA offers a safe place to live for around 70 young people such as these.

The supported housing we provide is a constructive solution to ensure these homeless young people get the chance to change their lives for good.

HCHA recognises that housing alone will not necessarily 'cure' a young person’s homelessness. With this in mind the housing schemes are designed to not only address their housing needs but also any support needs they may have in order to be helped firmly back on their feet....
